Accessibility and facilities

The Cube Wodonga aims to be an all-inclusive venue.

  • Parking and drop-off and pick-up and disabled car parks are available in the main car park to the council offices in Hovell Street.
  • Taxis can pick up and drop off at the Hovell Street entrance.
  • If you need assistance from the taxi into the venue, please contact the box office on (02) 6022 9311 or the Front of House Supervisor on 0466 016 414.
  • Wheelchair and scooter entry into and throughout the venue is available with lift access to the audience gallery.
  • Wheelchair accessible toilets are located in the main foyer and a hoist is available if required.
     

Getting here

The Cube Wodonga is located at 118 Hovell Street, Wodonga.

Accessible parking
There is accessible parking available between The Cube Wodonga and the council offices, and in the car park off Havelock Street. For further details, see our car parking map. The closest bays are approximately 30 meters from our Hovell Street entrance. There is a paved footpath between the car park and the Hovell Street entrance which is all one level. 

Drop off and pick up 
There are two drop off only parking spaces located on Hovell Street, approximately 30 meters from the courtyard and café entrances.  Please note, there is no access ramp from the curb onto the pavement from these car parks, and they are a standard size. If you need assistance ordering a taxi, please ask a Cube Staff member, or come to box office.

Public transport
The Cube Wodonga is located across from the Water Tower bus stop. There is a light controlled pedestrian crossing to cross Hovell Street and level pavers all the way to our Hovell Street and courtyard entrances. For information about bus routes, please click here. 

Entry points
There are two entrances to The Cube Wodonga for events. The Hovell St entrance, which is accessible through two sets of glass automated doors, and the courtyard entrance, which is accessible via one set of automatic doors. The courtyard can be accessed by Hovell Street or the rear carpark, entering the courtyard between the our loading dock and the senior citizens building.

All staff wear name tags and are available to assist with any enquires. 

Companion card program
The companion card program is a national program providing eligible people with a disability who require attendant carer support to participate in community events and activities, with a complimentary second ticket for their carer. The Cube Wodonga accepts companion cards for all events, please see ticketing FAQs for information on booking a ticket for a companion card holder. 

Concession pricing
The Cube Wodonga offers a concession price to all season shows to provide cheaper access to performances and events to those eligible, please see ticketing FAQs for information on what is accepted as a concession. Hirer performances will be requested to provide a concession price but it is at their discretion if this is offered.

Mob Tix
The Cube Wodonga ensures discounted tickets are available for First Nations people. You can book Mob Tix when purchasing tickets to events where this is offered. Selecting Mob Tix may indicate Race or Ethnic Origin which is considered sensitive information (Privacy and Data Protection Act, 2014). This data is only used to provide a discount for First Nations attendees. Please read the Terms and Conditions when booking your tickets on how we store and protect this data.

Concierge service
If you require any assistance finding your way into the venue or around the venue, please contact the Front of House Supervisor on 0466 016 414 when you arrive, ask a Cube Staff member, or come to box office for assistance. 

Guide dogs and service dogs 
Guide dogs and service dogs are welcome in the venue. Please speak to someone at the box office if you would like water for your guide dog. 

Hidden Disabilities
Many of The Cube’s staff have undertaken training to support people with non-visible disabilities. Please don’t hesitate to ask our staff if you need individual support in our venue.  

 

Venue facilities

Internal facility locations 
The Cube Wodonga box office is located in the foyer to the left of the Hovell Street entrance, after passing through the two automatic glass doors.

The foyer toilets are located to the right after entering through the Hovell Street entrance.

The bar is located to immediately to the left as you enter through the courtyard doors, or if you enter via the Hovell Street door, you will need to go straight ahead into the foyer and turn right, with the bar being located toward the courtyard doors on the right. The venue is fully licensed, with no BYO.

The meeting room is also located to the right of the Hovell Street entry.

Flooring in the venue varies between carpet, floorboards and Bolan which is a durable and resilient woven vinyl, designed for high traffic areas.

Accessible toilets
The foyer toilets include male and female toilets and one unisex disability access toilet. Both the male and female foyer toilets also include an ambulant cubicle.

The foyer disability access toilet also has an adult change table and hoist. The hoist harness is located at the box office, please see staff for assistance. This toilet also has grab bars on both sides of the toilet. Weekend access to this toilet is via Ploughmans Café, open Saturday 7am to 3pm and Sunday 8am to 1pm.

There are two disability access toilets in the back of house area for events and artists. 

Hearing loop 
A hearing loop system is installed in the meeting room and foyer. To use please switch your hearing aid to the ‘T’ switch. The auditorium is fitted with an assistive listening system. To use the hearing system you will need to collect a pendant from the box office. 

Theatre and accessible seating
The main auditorium is a multipurpose space with a retractable seating bank. It can seat up to 400 people in the tiered theatre seating layout, which included the main seating bank, seating pit and balcony seating. 

The main seating bank is accessible by stairs on either side of the seating bank accessed once inside the auditorium. There are wheelchair and reduced mobility allocated seating in Row A of the main seating bank, when set in theatre mode. Row A is on flat floor with the wheelchair and reduced mobility allocated seating on the ends. These can be booked via the website, at the box office or over the phone. Most performances utilise the seating bank in this layout.

The seating pit has 69 seats that are also tiered, that give the stage the appearance of being raised. The seating pit depth is 1.2m. These seats are accessible via a small set of stairs on either side of the auditorium once you have entered the space. The seating pit is only required when attendance exceeds 335 people. 

The balcony seating is located on level 1, and is accessible either by the staircase in the foyer, or via the lift in the foyer opposite the courtyard door. The balcony seating is released for sale only once the seating bank has sold 75 per cent of its capacity.

Children aged two years or under may sit on an adult’s lap during a performance free of charge for all season performances. If the child is three years or older a ticket must be purchased for admission and a seat allocated. Please note: External hirers may alter the age requirement for ticket purchase, which will be listed on their ticket information listing.

Booster seats
The Cube Wodonga has 30 plastic booster seats available for children. Please collect them from the box office.

Baby change and feeding
The foyer disability access unisex toilet has a baby change table for parents or care givers, and the venue is a breast feeding friendly venue. There are also several locations available if a quite or private space is required.

Other
The venue has a microwave available for patron and visitor use. There are couches and a variety of seating options in the foyer, and unless an event is utilising the space, patrons are welcome to use the seating during opening hours. The venue has several locations where patrons or visitors can recharge their motorised scooters/wheelchairs, please speak to the box office if you need assistance.


House rules

All ticket buyers must adhere to the ticketing terms and conditions. Please familiarise yourself with these conditions.
 

Emergency procedures and first aid

The Cube Wodonga staff are all trained in the emergency evacuation procedures and are here to assist all patrons exit the venue if required. All Front of House Supervisors, core staff and supervising technicians are trained in first aid, CPR including the use of an AED. The venue has an AED (automated external defibrillator) located in the foyer, as well as several first aid kits located around the venue. 

In the case of an emergency please follow the instructions of the staff and remain calm. If you require assistance or first aid, please seek the help from a staff member.
